Summer is just around the corner and it’s finally starting to feel like it too! For most of us, this means a lot of time out in the sun hanging out with friends, floating on the river, and going to the lake so we usually don’t want to be wearing a ton, if any, makeup. I like to keep my makeup easy and light and I definitely don’t want my makeup to be slipping and sliding all over my face in the hot weather. So I thought I would share with you some of my summer must haves:
First things first: You gotta have some sunscreen to protect your face! I like the Physical UV Defense sunscreen from Skin Ceuticals. It’s great because it’s nice and light and goes on beautifully under makeup or by itself. You can also get it in SPF 30 or 50 and tinted or un-tinted so there’s an option for everyone.
For eye makeup in summer, I like to wear just mascara, or a lighter eye shadow and maybe
some eyeliner. I am loving the eye shadow trio in Pink Quartz from Jane Iredale. This trio has a very light lavender shade, a peachy coral shade, and a deep purple shade. These colors are perfect for summer because you can either swipe on one of the light colors, or both, for an effortless pretty peach look or you can add the deeper purple shade to your crease to intensify your look for a night out. And for mascara, I love the Blinc Amplified Mascara which is especially great for summer because this isn’t going to smudge if you get sweaty but, unlike waterproof mascaras, this comes off easily when you take off your makeup.
A bonus favorite for the eyes, which is a fave all year round, is the Ultrathin Liquid Eyeliner Pen from Blinc. This eyeliner is amazing for creating that perfect winged liner, especially if you struggle with that like me!
For the skin I really like to keep it light by either just wearing concealer, to hide my dark circles, or concealer and some powder if I want a little more coverage. For concealer I like the Dermablend Smooth Liquid Camo because it’s nice and light while still giving plenty of coverage. For powder I really like the Jane Iredale PurePressed powder because it feels like nothing on your face and it’s buildable so you can get really light coverage or more medium coverage.
For the cheeks a great, all in one product, is the Peaches & Cream bronzer, blush, and highlight quad. This is an awesome product because you can just mix all the shades together, sweep it on your cheeks and you’re good to go.
Finally, for the lips, I like to stick to the pinks and nudes. Two of my favorites are the lip gloss in Pink Lady and the Lip Fixation in Craving from Jane Iredale. Both are beautiful shades and will look great with any look.
All of these products are great because they are all versatile so they are good for anyone. So stop by Skin Chic and come check them out and get some great makeup for the summer!
